The 17 Sustainable Development Goals Officially Adopted by 193 Countries
2030 U.N.-TARGETS SUPPORT
The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development contains of 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The agenda is adopted by all United Nations Members in 2015 with an urgent call for action by all countries (Sustainable development 2020). The 17 Sustainable Development Goals Officially Adopted by the countries of the United Nations. There are 195 countries in the world today. This total comprises 193 countries that are member states of the United Nations and 2 countries that are non-member observer states: the Holy See and the State of Palestine. The 17 Sustainable development goals are:
- No poverty [739 partnerships] : End poverty in all its forms everywhere
- Zero Hunger [687 partnerships] : End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture
- Good health and well-being [614 partnerships]: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
- Quality education [1073 partnerships]: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities or all
- Gender equality [824 partnerships]: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
- Clean water and sanitation [597 partnerships]: Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
- Affordable and clean energy [641 partnerships]: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
- Decent work and economic growth [1137 partnerships]: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all
- Industry, innovation and infrastructure [472 partnerships]: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation
- Reduced inequalities [431 partnerships]: Reduce inequality within and among countries
- Sustainable cities and communities [620 partnerships]: Make cities and human settlement inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
- Responsible consumption and production [804 partnerships]: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
- Climate action [974 partnerships]: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
- Life below water [1947 partnerships]: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
- Life on land [618 partnerships]: Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt
- Peace, justice and strong institutions [556 partnerships]: Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels
- Partnerships for the goals [1146 partnerships]: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development
